Meet Dr. Quinnett Swank
I’m Dr. Quinnett Swank, a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern in Las Vegas, Nevada. I help adult men and women who feel stuck in anxiety, relationship stress, life transitions, and trauma based patterns that keep repeating. My work is grounded, practical, and focused on deeper change—not just surface coping.
You might be here because you're constantly overthinking, feeling emotionally drained, or unsure of how to fix the stress in your relationships. My job is to help you slow down, get clear on what’s going on, and start feeling more like yourself again.
More importantly, I believe therapy works best when you feel safe, heard, and understood and that’s what I focus on in every session.
Sessions available in-person in Northwest Las Vegas and virtual across Nevada.
My focus: helping you change the patterns that keep you stuck
Many people come to therapy after they’ve tried to “push through” for a long time. You may look like you have it together, but inside you feel anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. Often the issue isn’t a lack of effort, it’s a pattern that your mind and body learned over time to stay safe.
In therapy, we slow things down, identify what’s happening underneath the surface, and build new ways of responding so you can feel calmer, clearer, and more confident in your relationships and decisions.
Culturally Responsive Therapy
Therapy should feel like a place where you don’t have to translate your life. I offer culturally responsive counseling for adults in Las Vegas and across Nevada who want support with anxiety, trauma, and relationship challenges while also feeling understood in the context of identity, culture, family expectations, and lived experience.
I often work with Black men and Black women, men and women of color, and adults who want a therapist who understands how identity and culture can shape anxiety, trauma recovery, and relationships.
As a Black female Marriage and Family Therapist-Intern, I provide a space that is grounded, respectful, and emotionally safe. That means we can talk openly about the stress of carrying a lot, being the “strong one,” navigating boundaries, and the ways culture and family dynamics shape your relationships and sense of self without minimizing what you’ve been through.
Culturally responsive therapy isn’t a separate type of therapy it’s the lens I bring to our work. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable, focus on what helps you feel regulated and supported, and build practical tools so you can show up in your life and relationships with more clarity, confidence, and calm.
Who I Work With
Adults in-person in Northwest Las Vegas and across Nevada (via virtual sessions) who feel stuck in anxiety, overthinking, panic, or chronic stress
Individuals navigating relationship challenges (boundaries, communication, trust, people-pleasing, shutting down)
Couples who feel stuck in conflict, shutdown, or emotional distance and want support improving communication and rebuilding connection
Adults moving through major life transitions (breakup/divorce, parenting shifts, career changes, grief, identity shifts)
Anyone who notices old wounds or past experiences shaping the present—especially in relationships and self-worth
Black men and Black women, and men and women of color who want culturally responsive support for anxiety, trauma, and relationship patterns
Someone who wants therapy that is both supportive and structured, with tools they can use outside of sessions
My Approach
My approach is attachment-focused and integrates CBT (to work with thought patterns and anxiety cycles), DBT-informed skills (emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness), and somatic strategies (nervous system regulation). Together, we’ll make sense of the patterns that keep showing up, strengthen your coping skills, and create more secure ways of relating—to yourself and the people you love.
What this looks like in sessions:
Attachment-focused: understand patterns, needs, and emotional safety in relationships
CBT + DBT skills: reduce overthinking, build boundaries, strengthen communication, and respond more effectively under stress
Somatic tools: regulate panic/shutdown, support grounding, and build nervous system resilience
Trauma-informed pacing: we move at a pace that supports safety, choice, and control
Couples Therapy
I also offer couples therapy for partners who feel stuck in conflict, shutdown, or emotional distance and want support improving communication and rebuilding connection. My couples work is attachment-informed and focused on helping you understand the cycle you’re caught in, rebuild emotional safety, and create more secure ways of connecting.
If you’re unsure whether individual or couples therapy is the best fit, we can talk through options during a consultation.
