Swank Counseling · A Whole-Person Perspective
Nutrition & Mental Health Therapy in Las Vegas
Mental health is connected to more than our thoughts and emotions. The ways we eat, sleep, move, and navigate stress can be part of the bigger picture.
In individual therapy, we can explore how daily routines and your relationship with food intersect with anxiety, mood, energy, and emotional well-being, always with room for your circumstances, values, and real life.
Beyond the Food Rules
Taking care of your mental health can include how you care for your body.
This is not about prescribing a perfect diet. It is about understanding the connections that matter in your life and building flexibility rather than another set of rules.
How I Work
The whole person matters.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with additional education in nutrition and behavior change. My work is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a trauma-informed perspective, and an understanding that emotional and physical well-being can influence each other.
We begin with your reasons for seeking therapy. When it is relevant and helpful, our conversations may include patterns around meals, sleep, movement, stress, self-care, or the expectations you place on yourself. We can explore these without making weight, food tracking, or dietary perfection the goal.
This remains individual mental health therapy. You do not need to seek nutrition advice to work with me, and nutrition-related conversations are never required.
What We Might Explore
Practical connections, without rigid expectations.
Stress and Daily Routines
Notice how demanding days shape your routines, energy, and capacity for self-care. Make room for realistic decisions rather than all-or-nothing expectations.
Nourishment and Emotional Well-Being
Explore whether inconsistent meals, difficult food beliefs, or everyday nourishment patterns are part of what you want to understand, without prescribing a diet.
Sleep, Movement, and Recovery
Consider how rest, activity, and recovery relate to stress and emotional functioning, with respect for your health, abilities, and circumstances.
Values and Sustainable Change
Use ACT-informed conversations to identify what matters and experiment with manageable steps, instead of relying on guilt, perfectionism, or willpower alone.
Clear Boundaries
What this service is, and what it isn't.
Nutrition-informed therapy means acknowledging relevant mind-body connections while treating your mental health concerns. It does not include personalized meal plans, lab testing, supplement prescriptions, dietary treatment, or medical nutrition therapy.
I do not present this as specialized eating-disorder treatment. If an eating disorder, medical issue, or nutrition condition needs focused care, I can discuss appropriate referrals and coordinated support with qualified providers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Questions about nutrition-informed therapy.
You do not need to know exactly how these connections fit your experience before reaching out.
What is nutrition-informed mental health therapy?
It is individual mental health therapy that may include conversations about everyday nourishment, sleep, stress, movement, and habits when they are relevant to your emotional well-being and therapy goals.
Do you provide meal plans or nutrition coaching?
No. Swank Counseling provides mental health therapy, not stand-alone nutrition coaching, food plans, supplement protocols, functional lab testing, or medical nutrition therapy.
Is this eating-disorder treatment?
No. This service is not a specialized eating-disorder treatment program. If eating-disorder symptoms or nutritional concerns require a specialist, we can discuss referrals and appropriate coordinated care.
Can we focus on anxiety or stress without talking about food?
Absolutely. Nutrition-informed considerations are optional and relevant only when they fit your goals. Therapy can focus on anxiety, relationships, transitions, or other concerns without discussing food.
How much is a session and where do we meet?
Individual therapy is $160 for 50 minutes and is private pay. Sessions are available at my Northwest Las Vegas office or by secure video when you are physically in Nevada. You can start with a free 15-minute consultation.
A Thoughtful First Step
